The first Moodle MOOC was organized by Dr. Nellie Deutsch. MM1 was launched on May 31, 2013 on WizIQ. The MOOC was led by Dr. Nellie Deutsch and facilitated by Professor Ludmila Smirnova, Dr. Nancy Zingrone, and Dr. Ramesh Sharma, and Judith Behrens (doctoral student). Martin Dougiamas, founder of Moodle, Dave Cormier (said to have coined the term MOOC), Stephen Downes, and Bryan Alexander were keynote speakers at the first Moodle MOOC in the world.
